Kindergarten, it is #17 |Little Explorers: Outer Space

🧑‍🚀3′ Activity 1: We pretend to put on our spacesuit, boots, gloves, helmets and we are getting ready to explore the space. We also sing Zoom Zoom Zoom, We are Going to the Moon 🌙

10′ 📖 Activity 2: We read parts of the book Little Explorers: Outer Space by Ruth Martin. Specifically we focused on the two pages devoted to our solar system. It is a lift-the-flap book and therefore, learners are superexcited to touch and check these types of books.

10′ 🌍 Activity 3: We play with spinning planets by Svoora. Learners feel the wooden spins and spin them, choose their favourite planet and stand in a line pretending to be orbiting around the sun. I also used huge flashcards but they are not as popular as the spinning planets

Mars, Saturn, Uranus and Earth

🔄5′ Activity 4: We match the planets to the respective flashcards.

🖍7′ Activity 5: We paint the planets in our solar system, and we review colours from previous lessons.

🎶 4′ Activity 6: We listen to the song Eights Planets and dance to its rhythm (twice as it is very short and really popular with 5 years old). The song is by Pinkfong and is available on YouTube
