🦭10′ Activity 1 I introduce Arctic animals with the help of plastic miniatures. We talk about polar bears, seals, beluga whales, walruses, Arctic wolves and foxes as well as penguins that live in the Antarctica. We take roles and greet other animals e.g. Hello seal, I am a beluga whale.

🗺 10′ Activity 3 We use the last pages of Arctic and Antarctica from the book Maps by Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski and we place the miniatures on the map where the animal is shown. It is like a treasure hunt to find the animal on the map but it is super exciting for young learners.

🌡 Activity 4 Experiment: The book mentioned that polar bears have a thick layer of fat, and that is the reason why they stay warm in such low temperatures. Therefore, we conduct an experiment ,we put both hands in icy cold water,one hand is bare, and the other hand is in a bag with butter. We observe how butter functions as insulation. and protects our hands from freezing.
