Kindergarten it is #5| Colours (revision)

In some kindergartens, pupils are already familiar with all colours and much more vocabulary than expected. It is time for revision, and that is absolutely fine. Also, I plan to work with colours again when it comes to emotions

5′ 1st activity: We play a game where I name colours and the pupils stand up if they were that colour today. Flashcards are quite useful for the revision of colours.

8′-10′ 2nd activity: We play a game where I name a colour and pupils run to touch an item of that colour. We use toys, plastic fruits, wooden blocks, their chairs, and all low posters on the wall.

5′ 3rd activity: We read a simplified version of The Wall: A Timeless Tale by Carolina Zanotti. We can read parts of the book in English and explain it in Greek with the help of the kindergarten teacher. It is a good idea to have them touch the wall in the book and allow them to feel the book because it is indeed big and impressive. (If they like it, we read it again)

10′-15′ 4th activity: We create our own kingdom with stickers. I encourage them to trade and speak in English as much as possible. (For that, I use a trick; I touch their ears with my wand and they can listen to the colours only in English). Once they finish, they can show their work to their teammates in their table and name the colours they used. To be honest, it has proven difficult to work with 3 different tables simultaneously but I am working on that.

10′ 5th activity: We sing I See Something Blue and then we watch and sing a new similar song I See Something Pink by Super Simple. Songs.
