Today’s lesson is dedicated to numbers 1-10 and to autumn. We review numbers 1-5 and vocabulary such as bird, squirrel, green, brown, orange and introduce through flashcards and realia cloud, apple, pumpkin, leaf.

🫴5′ Activity 1:We sit in a circle, and we pass wooden numbers from one pupil to the other while we all sit in chorus the number that circulates like we are rooting for it in a field! Extra bonus fact are when they notice the similarities between 6 and 9 and have others hold them properly.

🔍5′-8′ Activity 2: Pupils are in 2 teams. I ask them numbers and they bring them to me.

📖10′-12′ Activity 3: We look at the book’s cover and try to guess what this is about. We discuss hide-and-seek, and next, we read the book Where’s Bear by Emily Gravett. It is a great book to practise numbers from 1-10 as the two animals play hide-and-seek and count to 10.

🍂5′ Activity 4: I tell them how I stole autumn and have it in my bag. They can free it by name the colours of the leaves and then I promise to return leaves to nature. We review colours, and we count them.

Autumn Scavenger Hunt

10′- 15′ Activity 5: I introduce new vocabulary from the autumn scavenger hunt I created. We are in groups in front of each window or go out in the yard and look for the items in our autumn scavenger hunt.
